Clever propagandists have wound it up and bound it all so tightly, that one cannot criticize radical political Islam without appearing to criticize the legitimate exercise of religion.
I would expect this to work in the uneducated hinterlands of South Asia, but it is scary that such rot has taken hold here in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave, and with the cooperation of so many supposedly enlightened individuals.
The only way for freedom loving Americans to combat this is to not kowtow to it. Shove it back in their faces. How many people have militia members decapitated in the past 10 years? I bet Muslims are beating them in the head count.
Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, US Navy veteran, shows us how it’s done:
This exchange occurred at the King hearings on Islamic radicalization. I love how he eviscerates the clueless dimbulb-ocrat who stupidly discounted the testimony of good Muslim Americans who related how radical Islam had tragically led their children astray.
Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Calif., went after the witnesses themselves. She said that these "anecdotes are interesting," of Bledsoe's and Bihi's story. She noted that hearing needed more experts. Then she asked a question of Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy.
Speier: "Do you believe that you have expertise to be speaking?"
Jasser: "That's the question the theocrats ask me all the time." (RCP)Bravo, Dr. Jasser! And he did it with a smile.
Clever propagandists have wound it up and bound it all so tightly, that one cannot criticize radical political Islam without appearing to criticize the legitimate exercise of religion.
ReplyDeleteAnd therein lies the core of the problem.
Shortly after 9/11, when I told a close friend that we have been infiltrated and need to monitor mosques here in the United States, she started in with First Amendment rights.
I said to her: "Islam is as dangerous to our way of life as Communism. Should we not have broken up those cells?"
She replied: "Communism is not a religion. Islam is."
I responded: "Islam is more than a religion. It is a geopolitical ideology with religious trappings."
She fell silent.
Of course, I could reason with my friend. She is not a liberal.
I am going out on a limb here, but I honestly do not see Islam as a religion, per say, but more of an ideology. In some aspects it is a religion but mostly ideology because of the goals placed on their people and heinous expectations.
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo, we should speak against radical Islamics and educate those who believe it be peaceful, because it is not.
Islam is a religion, but it has been hijacked.
ReplyDeleteAnytime I criticize, I am careful to criticize islamists and other noisy troublemakers who hold beliefs antithetical to our constitutional form of government.
Far be it from me to criticize anyone's religion. The Five Pillars of Islam are quite innocuous. It is the operatives who turn it into a political movement that I have a problem with.
I have had many Muslim colleagues, and I never had a problem with any of them.
Silver, c'mon man, I just read your comment above and then compared it with your post... c'mon man.
ReplyDeleteYou have made it quite clear that you believe we're in some holy war with Islam and it's us v them and they want to take over the world and bla bla bla. The picture you have on the post contains a lie. Genital mutilation is not Islamic. It is an old cultural tradition that pre-dates Islam and is not prescribed by that faith. Believers believe they are getting away with it by following the same old rule Christians used to follow to the letter but not anymore: the Fifth Commandment.
Remember - religion does not have to cause problems, it's just a convenient excuse to exaserbate them.
JMJ
I never said genital mutilation was a tenet of their faith, but it sure is prevalent where Islam is practiced.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, you're one of the "enlightened" I referred to above.
I'm not "enlightened," Silver. I'm a bit of a throw-back, if anything. I'm just being realistic. I notice you say nothing of my comment about the Fifth Commandment, and so obviously have no will to put that in context. It doesn't require enlightenment to at least understand what's going on around you, Silver, just plain ol' history.
ReplyDeleteJMJ
I beg to differ. Islam hasn't been hijacked. Mohammed set the tone with his beheadings, killing of political and intellectual enemies (like poets), sacking of cities, marrying and raping children, etc. And he codified it in very explicit language calling for the killing or subjegation of all non-muslims. Those co-workers who are muslim and apparently friendly just aren't aware of the toxic sludge they've accepted as a religion.
ReplyDeleteStuff it, Jersey. You're one to be talking. You focus in on one little thing you can twist out of proportion and completely ignore the larger point every time you show up here?
ReplyDelete5th Commandment? Talmudic or Roman Catholic?
If you refer to murder, muzzies are way ahead in the body count
Speaking of ignoring things, answer my question: Who's ahead in the head count, Islamists or militia members?
ReplyDeleteAccording to FBI statistics, what group gets 80% of the terrorism convictions?
Islamists need dhimmi patsies, and there are plenty right here in the formerly classical liberal west.
As I said earlier, I am not going to criticize the religion of another, and our country enshrines religious freedom, so long as it doesn't conflict with the rights of others and our constitution.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes wonder how many do muslim savages have to kill before liberal apes will figure it out. In the grand scheme of things i couldn't care less how stupid liberals are, the problem is that they constantly hinder any efforts to stand up to the cult of islam and actively aid it. All because they hate and fear the real religion of peace, Christianity.
