Voter suppression!
“the largest legislative effort to scale back voting rights in a century.”
People who are too irresponsible to get proper identification, and people who are ineligible for it, vote overwhelmingly democrat.
“A survey by the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University School of Law found that 11 percent of citizens, 21 million people, do not have a current photo ID. That fraction increases to 15 percent of low-income voting-age citizens, 18 percent of young eligible voters and 25 percent of black eligible voters.” (NY Times – Republican Threat to Voting)How in the hell do these people go about their daily lives?
You can’t even rent a movie at blockbuster without a valid form of ID. You certainly can’t get a legitimate job without it. When I got my first civilian job after honorable service in the US military, I had to show up with a valid US passport to prove I was eligible to work in the United States.
That's Racist!
Can you believe it? GOP state governments are so racist that they are passing laws requiring voters to actually present ID at the polls in order to vote! What is this country coming to? And to get this ID, they are required to present a birth certificate or naturalization paperwork proving they are an American citizen! Imagine that!
“The Wisconsin bill refuses to recognize college photo ID cards, even if they are issued by a state university”Oh no! Diplomas are also issued by state universities, and we know how little the vast majority of those are worth.
The Democrat propagandists at the New York Times go on to breathlessly inform us…
“The Texas bill, so vital that Gov. Rick Perry declared it emergency legislation, would also reject student IDs, but would allow anyone with a handgun license to vote.”Anyone with a brain can see the logic behind this. Universities do not require source documentation such as a birth certificate or passport to issue their cheap little ID. A Texas “handgun license” owner has had to prove residency and citizenship. BTW, any non-felon can possess a weapon in Texas. The license is for concealed carry, lest a reader think Texas has turned yellow belly sapsucker liberal while we weren’t looking.
My Plan to Prevent Voter Fraud
* Purge the voter rolls every two years
* To vote in a state you must possess a state drivers license or state ID card. You can only get one of those if you present proof of citizenship (passport or birth certificate) and proof of state residency.
* No sidewalk registration by acorn thugs or voter advocacy groups. If you want to register to vote you must present yourself to the county office every two years with your state-issued ID or drivers license in hand.
* No voting by mail except for military and US government employees stationed overseas
* You must present a valid state issued ID or drivers license at the polling place. If something doesn’t match, you don’t vote
Electronic voting needs a complete overhaul, but that's a whole topic of its own.

*- Yes, this is a repost. I posted it the day Google Blooger crashed a few weeks back and I just found it in my list of draft posts.

ReplyDeleteYep.
But the Dems want people to vote without valid ID. Boggles the mind!
* No voting by mail except for military and US government employees stationed overseas
What about those who are physically disabled and can't get to the polls? Mr. AOW goes to the polls in person, but I do have one dear friend who is housebound.
AOW, I know for a fact that it is possible -- at least in the state where I live -- for house-bound invalids to get absentee ballots that can either be mailed back or brought directly to City Hall -- or wherever votes are tabulated -- by an able-bodied caregiver.
ReplyDeleteI know, because I recently managed and participated in the care of two such individuals for a period of more than ten years.
You have to request the forms about a month in advance, and they must be sent in or delivered by hand before election day. I imagine the rules vary from state to state.
I wish you the very best of luck with your present situation. I do know what it's like. The only way I could approach it and remain reasonably sane was to take one day at a time, and always hope for the best no matter what. The very fact that you are doing good for someone you love can be sustaining all by itself.

SilverFiddle...here's one big suggestion:
ReplyDeleteNO MORE PROVISIONAL BALLOTS. If you are too far from home during work hours, vote at your precinct EARLY or LATE.
If you don't show up on the list, you DO NOT VOTE..etc
I have seen HORRIBLE things and commented on them at my precinct and nothing's been done.
And every voting expert I KNOW has said that nobody even looks at the provisionals to see if someone also voted elsewhere.
In Germany, it's literally IMPOSSIBLE to vote twice or do any of the shenanigans we've had pulled on OUR voting system; time to COMPLETELY REDO, but we keep making it EASIER than HARDER and then we're considered RACIST>
I hate to say this but AMerica needs Haitian Voting observers at our next election.
In Texas a "handgun license" is a concealed carry permit. You don't need a license to own a gun in Texas. I know because I was born and raised there. In my current state of Mississippi, concealed carry permits are issued through the state highway patrol. Same people who issue drivers license. Concealed carry permits backgrounds are mini security clearance checks. They get your finger prints and do a criminal background check.
ReplyDeleteNow on to voter ID. Well,,,uh, yeah. If you're not a citizen of this country then you don't get a say to it's governance. If you want student IDs to carry weight, then let the state itself issue it. They already issue IDs for people who need one but don't have a driver's license. I don't see what the big deal is. I currently have in my wallet four different IDs that will get me past a TSA security checkpoint and board a plane.
And I am tired and fed up with the argument that it's racist to demand a ID. It's being demanded on EVERYONE! If anything it's nationalistic. (nationalism - Devotion to the interests or culture of one's nation.)
Sort of hate to bring it up yet again, but I think it's beyond outrageous that I have to produce a picture ID (i.e. driver's license) in order to be allowed to send three lousy pieces of paper via UPS at an exorbitant rate, when someone can run for the friggin presidency of the entire country without being asked to provide any proof at all that he is, in fact, a natural-born citizen.
ReplyDeleteIt's also outrageous that I now feel I have to send vitally important documents through UPS or Federal Express, because the US Mail has become so undependable there's no longer any certainty that what you send will get where its supposed to go.
It cost me $22.00 to send those three pieces of paper the other day, and I had to suffer the indignity of being forced to present a PICTURE ID for the privilege of being fleeced like that.
Also, I was informed at the local DMV that starting in 2013 all of us would have to present a BIRTH CERTIFICATE in order to be issued a car registration no matter how many times we've been through the process in the past.
And yet, apparently, the DemonRats and their minions want us to accept the cockamamie notion that it's inherently unfair, racist, and discriminatory to require a show of ID in order to VOTE?
GEDDOUDAHERE!
How much more of this crap should we be expected to take? The level of docility towards government tyranny is depressing. Everyone with a modicum of common sense should be up in arms at what is happening.
When does the revolution begin? I want to be there with my pitchfork (and a hand grenade or two).

PS: Could anyone think of a sure fire method to prevent the DEAD from voting in Cook County, Illinois?
ReplyDelete~ FreeThinke
Rational thought has gone the way of the Newspapers. No longer relevant. The thought that I.D. is too much of a burden is beyond comprehension. The ends justify the means.
ReplyDeleteYou might want to add one more item to your list, Silver. It might be nice that voters could prove they are alive. It's absolutely amazing how many dead people vote each election.
ReplyDeleteChicago style elections. Vote early, vote often.
ReplyDeletePurging the voter rolls every two years is my only solution to keeping dead people from voting.
ReplyDeleteBTW, none of this would fix anything in the corrupt sewer of Cook county that Obama crawled out of.
When the crooks are on the inside the process is already screwed.
>a sure fire method to prevent the DEAD from voting in Cook County, Illinois?
ReplyDeleteProhibiting any and all Democrats from entering the county would be pretty close.
Excellent proposals.
ReplyDeleteBut, Bastiatrian, that would just about empty Kook Kounty. No one who lives there would dare not to register as a Democrat. There would be "repercussions."
ReplyDeleteIt's just about that way in New York City too. I know a fellow who was a lifelong Republican and moved to New York because of a job promotion. When it came time to register to vote, he told them he was a Republican, and was told, "Oh no you're not. We don't allow that around here. It's inadvisable." So he became a registered Demonrat. He thought it was funny. I don't.
Unless this fellow was putting me on, that's the truth.
Don't know what happened at the "secret" voting machines, but I'm reasonably certain the D'Rat operatives in these heavily Democratic districts have their methods of neutralizing or disposing of "unwanted" votes.
I'm not sure our Constitutional Republic can survive this high a level of corruption. Changing demographics and liberal justification for "reverse racism" are a large part of the problem. And then you have the Liberal Media Establishment constantly fomenting class warfare everywhere -- even in the Weekend Magazines and at places like the Home and Garden channel and the Food channel.
There's an obvious, heavy-handed push to promote the liberal agenda -- and vilify and discredit Conservatism and Christianity in every nook and cranny.
The New York Times touted the opening of a restaurant called The Tipsy Parson not long ago. It's supposed to be "cute," "charming,"" humorous," "sophisticated," and "trendy." Sorry, but I think it's part of "The Plan" long ago devised by cultural Marxists to bring down America by changing the culture to celebrate and applaud dishonesty, depravity, vice, sin, disloyalty, disobedience, coarseness, vulgarity, ignorance and sloth.
Sorry to sound like Savonarola, and believe me I'm no prude, but if you've been around as long as I you can't help but see very clearly and how swiftly we've gone downhill.
There must be a reason for it. These things don't happen by accident.

"You can’t even rent a movie at blockbuster without a valid form of ID."
ReplyDeleteThey probably steal the movies and don't hold a real job, more like the ones where they borrow things from other people without them knowing it. :)
The only way to get leftards to pine for voter id checking is if you send busloads of republicans to vote in democrat areas and kick them out of power, then you'll see the rats squawking about the need for it. Heck, you might even get the ratbags to make references to the Constitution.
