Maxine Waters saying something stupid |
"We don't put pressure on the president," Waters told the audience at Wayne County Community College. "Let me tell you why. We don't put pressure on the president because ya'll love the president. You love the president. You're very proud to have a black man--first time in the history of the United States of America. If we go after the president too hard, you're going after us." (Unleash Us – James Taranto)So people love him just because he’s black. He may be a complete failure and an incompetent boob, but he’s a black man, so we gotta love him, can’t criticize him, regardless of skyrocketing minority unemployment and the economic chaos he’s caused.
It’s not a black thing…
Talked to any Palin fans lately? Any criticism, no matter how thoughtful or respectful will be met with a screaming flurry of teeth and claws.
Europe is also in the thrall of America’s First Black President, although the Olde Continent has yet to elect a leader outside the exclusive pasty-white club. The Guardian’s Martin Kettle worries His O-ness may not get reelected, thanks to our raucous overabundance of rednecks, yahoos and otherwise unenlightened, unsophisticated un-Europeans (barf alert!):
That changed in 2008. With one mighty bound, the nation of mad people became a nation of visionaries, electing not a buffoon but an incredibly cool, incredibly smart, incredibly articulate leader who was so progressive and sensitive that, guess what, he might almost have been one of us. Except that, inconveniently, he wasn't. But that didn't matter. We gave him the Nobel peace prize when he'd only been in office for five minutes and drooled whenever he looked in our direction.
Now, with 15 months to go before the next US presidential election, a spectre is haunting Europe. The spectre is the possibility Barack Obama might not be re-elected. (Guardian – US Voters are not Mad)Ideas are Bigger than People
I view candidates as conveyors of ideas, tools to get things done. If my politician heroically dies in the act of righting some wrong, I will mourn his political loss, but cheer the gain for the country. If he takes a wrong turn, as President Bush did, I’ll criticize him.
With Obama, it’s the opposite. He survives and thrives, trudging along the path of failure, fanboys and fangirls cheering all the way. His twisted ideas are choking our economy, our society and our bedrock American values of hard work, entrepreneurship and personal liberty. Still, the goose-stepping Obama-Lama-Ding-Dongs cheer him on and the press gives his out-of-touch Cape Cod family vacation the Hollywood treatment.
Our stubborn love of W damn near killed us. The left’s Worshipful Cult of His Barackness, with its hatred of free speech and studious ignorance of the facts, could end up finishing us off.
We do live in the Age of the Cult of Personality. **sigh**
ReplyDeleteThis cult of personality is such a teeny bopper thing. Just sayin'.
Under W. everyone was fine with letting the "Clinton Good Times ROLL!"... and the Republicans elected under the "austerity" of '94 acted like drunken sailors with a wad of cash in port for a short-time. The Dems played ball, just so long as their earmarks went through.
ReplyDelete...and 9/11 kept the public distracted. The perfect storm.
An African American friend of mine, after 2 years of Obama's presidency, actually admitted to me that he only voted for Obama because he's black, and that he regrets voting for him, especially for that reason.
ReplyDeleteWas it a big step culturally? I think so. We have to assume that although half of voters voted for McCain, probably only a very small percentage of those voters are actually racist.
Cultural advancement/enlightenment or whatever, however noble and good it may be, isn't always enough to affect prosperity in troublesome times.
First, your link to the Guardian shows how little Europe knows about the Tea Party and proves without a doubt,as my husband used to say to his European friends and family (he who spoke fluent French, German and English), "you're getting only the leftwing American news translated into German or French or Italian; no wonder you don't understand the full American political story."
ReplyDeleteSomething I've often said at my blog, from years of watching TV news from ALL sides, and after reading my leftwingers' comments, is that they will never really criticize their own. I often say "Republicans eat their young...we criticize, we analyze, we talk about the problems in the GOP, etc." Look at the Republican discussions at blogs about the candidates for next year!
One doesn't see that very much in the Democrats; they stand united and so it's almost shocking to hear any criticism from ol' Maxine (who, to be fair, has said she's not delighted with HER ONE lately).
Ever seen Meet the Press insult and otherwise infer stupidity and a 'too religious stance' in their leftwing candidates like they did Sunday (and often do)?
No, I didn't think so.
Remember, it felt almost shocking to see Hillary criticized in the '08 primary season; stunning, only because they don't do it often...but she was thrown to the wolves because they had to do ANYTHING to get Obama elected. He'd already been anointed. By someone$$$$
really good post, SF.
Z: Liberal thought is so entrenched in this country, unchallenged, causing the left to forget how to think, analyze and debate.
ReplyDeleteBecause we have been raging against the machine, the intellectual ferment is on the right, and we do know how to debate and defend ideas because we've been challenged on all sides.
All of this is now bearing fruit. Political Darwinism explains the dying gasps of progressivism.
Nobody's in the thrall of this Democratic Leadership Council stooge.
ReplyDeleteJust another corporate jackoff who is more qualified to be on the Maury show waiting for the DNA results (Barack in the matter of your cousins three kids -- you ...) than to be president.
We are a freaking sorry people who gave up on intelligent politically leadership long ago.
Remember, it felt almost shocking to see Hillary criticized in the '08 primary season; stunning, only because they don't do it often...
ReplyDelete--------
z, I could point you to a left wing blog where the Hillary supporters are back and they are pissed.
They were called everything but children of God when they questioned sincerity of The Black Bush and now they want payback.
I'd suggest you visit only you might post and get eviscerated.
The only thing keeping The Black Stooge viable is the likes of Bachmann and Perry who are completely insane.
The Black Bush is so weak that someone thought they had a great opportunity to improve the Baggers image by paying the pizza ma to run.
But not weak enough to lose to the freaking clowns on the right.
Ducky, you lose all credibility with your constant and nagging insults. Read SF's first paragraph to me in his comment above yours; you need it.
ReplyDeleteSilverfiddle: Germany's Der Spiegel is saying that the world's 'hopes' for Mr. Obama have been dashed, that his "weakness is a problem for the entire global economy."
Brother, if they only realized most AMericans are on to him, too.
Remember how he campaigned in Berlin, even getting ANGRY that they wouldn't let him be near the Brandenburg Gates? Can you IMAGINE what a Republican would have got from our media if he or she'd gone to EUROPE to campaign for our elections? MAN. (by the way, remember all those crowds in Berlin and how the media talked it up as if they love him so much and that's why they were there? My German husband laughed and said 'Give Germans a rare evening of pleasant weather, free music and food, and they'll be there for anybody' :-))
When the Libyan Oil does not show up on their doorstep as before, perhaps they will reconsider O and his greatness, as well as their dear leaders.
ReplyDeleteHuman nature is what is and that's not always bad. If you care about someone for their integrity, their character, and their good deeds, It is natural and noble to come to their defense when attacked. But to feel that way only because of the color of persons skin is not so noble. I anticipate that the Republican primaries will be a bit ugly; but, hopefully we will in the end unite behind one person. the national elections will be very ugly indeed.
ReplyDeleteThe Black Chamber of Commerce President has assured America that they will deliver 1 to 2 million black votes AGAINST Obama the next go-round, if he lasts until the next election.
ReplyDeleteRG: I like to think so, but I doubt it. Picture Obama voters, really staunch leftwingers, suddenly saying "I don't like Obama anymore, I think I'll vote for Michelle Bachmann...or Rick Perry"
ReplyDeleteI think they're posturing but won't ever stray from their leftwing hero/ black or white.
I hope you're right and I'm wrong.
It's sort of like when leftwing friends say they're not going for Obama anymore....99% of the time, he's not going left ENOUGH, not that they've finally seen the light.
Talked to any Palin fans lately? Any criticism, no matter how thoughtful or respectful will be met with a screaming flurry of teeth and claws.
ReplyDeleteI've seen that, but you won't get it from me.
....and I am a huge Palin fan.
The problem with the ravers is that they don't understand just how successful the left was at demonizing her with still slumbering Independents.

I agree. The phenomenon, if you will, is a lot more prevelant than the drooling lefties wish to admit.
Our stubborn love of W damn near killed us.
ReplyDeleteGuilty. I still love the guy, but I hate/hated his spending policies. However, I do wish he was still President, especially, given the two alternatives.
Sue me.
One of my Christian friends voted for Obama because he was afraid to be labeled a "racist" if he voted any other way.
ReplyDeleteTrust me, he regrets that decision. And he got a firm scolding from me about researching the candidates, how they vote, where they stand on traditional values, etc.
It's about the person NOT the color of their skin.
I can't turn anywhere without seeing that ditz, Kim Kardashian, in her wedding gown. I don't even own a television set!
ReplyDeleteObama is just another cult celebrity. His reality show sucks, though.
Bread and Circuses...
What white folk have to look forward to:
ReplyDeleteTo Robert Mugabe, et al.
When'er White Rule is driven away
Black tyrants often come to stay.
When White Men let their burden down
Savages will take the crown
Place it on their nappy heads
Throw themselves in with the Reds
Rule their folk with iron hand
Wreaking havoc o'er the land.
When blacks rule blacks, no one is free
Their nature turns to tyranny.
How much blood might have been saved
If they'd stayed happily enslaved!

This is what the South faced during Reconstruction. Jim Crow came as a defense against it. Now we have to deal with it all over again. The proper name for it is Deep and Abiding Prejudice Against White People.
Whites will soon be a minority in their own country. It's "our" turn to suffer now. Just you wait and see.
There could be no hope for a better future till EVERYONE learns that in order to correct one injustice you don't have to perpetrate another.

AOW, the COP ERA began with the Nixon-Kennedy Debates. That's when TV -- and Hollywood image-making techniques -- took control of the political process.
ReplyDeleteNow we're in the COPD* Era -- and the nation is on life support.

Psssssssssssssst!
ReplyDeleteAnyone seen the new statue of The Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr.?
He looks CHINESE.
The Ultimate Triumph of Mao Tse Dung over America?
What else might it signify?
Now there is something over which African-Americans really ought to riot.

@ Divine: Obama is just another cult celebrity. His reality show sucks, though.
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!
Thanks for the laugh!
The only critical words I have heard about Obama from the left is that he hasn't moved far enough or fast enough to the left.
ReplyDeleteIs there a chance he will have a challengr in the primary? That should stir things up a bit.

Primo stuff. Lets' explain things to the fringe right winger in training.
The oil will be pumped. it will be put on the market. So it ain't a matter of anything "showing up", got it?
What's at stake are the drilling contracts. Profit, price control, that sort of thing, got it?
Let's face it Maxine Waters is nothing more than a common cunt.
ReplyDeleteIf shit had a face, it would look like Maxine Waters.
Maxine -- and all her dyspeptic, disagreeable, despicable, imbecilic, race baiting ilk -- should be tarred and feathered then impaled on the Washington Monument.
Haven't you had ENOUGH of this crap?
Can you imagine the hullaballoo if anyone tried to form a Congressional Caucasian Caucus?

I myself usually refrain from using such language on the blogs. However, I have to say that, this time, the language is warranted and appropriate.
Why thank you, AOW.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too, or I wouldn't have said it, but it's nice to get some affirmation -- especially from a lady.
I usually avoid using such language too, as I hope you've noticed, but every once in a while ... well only the vernacular will do.
Hope you have a good day.
Were you affected by the earthquake yesterday? I read that Virginia was the epicenter of a 5.8. One old friend, who lives in Charlottesville, but was settling his son into his first year in college in Richmond, said the dormitory shook and trembled but no harm was done. Later at home he and hi wife found two pictures had allen of the wall and a bit of glassware had smashed. Dramatic for the east coast, wasn't it?

Here's a first hand story about maxine waters.
ReplyDeleteShe showed up late for a United Airlines flight and insisted on having "her" seat. 1st class of course, row 1, window. There was already a gentleman seated there and row 2, window was available. She would have none of that chit. She pulled a tantrum like any 3 yr old would, and the 'problem solver' from United went and offered the gentleman a generous upgrade on his next flight and the bitch got "her" seat. She and many other democrats have no taste, class, and view themselves as above everyone else. Much like a dictator. They're A*s. The vast majority of them - and it is mind boggling people continue to vote them into power.
That's the problem - there will always be A*s, but we've now got to the point that a sufficient number of voters actually promote the vermin.
This is the same stupid heifer that couldn't keep her mouth shut about her idea of "good government" about 18 months ago - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3I-PVVowFY -. Good people die everyday from strokes and heart attacks. Why not someone like her!
ReplyDeleteFT[ you're a racist pig and shame on the host for allowing your filth.
ReplyDeleteBd: We also allow your incoherent nonsense, so count your blessings.
