Andrew Breitbart Stormed The Bastille
Kirsten Powers, who violated progressive orthodoxy by calling out the sexists on her own side, describes her own experience in how the left keeps the slaves on the plantation. Keith Olberboob called her a "house-trained Fox News liberal,” giving his dozens of fans the green light to join the attack:
After he also tweeted his attacks—which were echoed by other liberals trying to distort what I said—his (presumably “progressive”) followers let me know that I was a “wind-up toy” and a “bobble head” and “just another brainless plastic doll Fox puts on camera to appease the horned up 60-yr old white dudes at home.” All the typical insults that male political analysts and columnists get, I’m sure.
Don’t forget: liberals are the feminists; it’s the GOP who hates women. (Kirsten Powers)She goes on to describe how liberal men in the media routinely dehumanize women with such cute phrases as "mannish," "female impersonator," and "Squirrely bitch." Ha ha.
Let’s just call a spade a spade: the uproar over Limbaugh is only because it fits into the Democratic narrative that the GOP is “anti-woman.” It’s Democratic Party activism dressed up as feminism. (Kirsten Powers)
The conservative women of ShePac have struck back:
Personal Testimony on the Significance of Breitbart
Andrew Breitbart escaped the plantation and lived to tell about it. Even worse for the left, he let other libertine, artistic free-spirits know it was OK on the outside, he helped them to escape and they are now turning on their erstwhile masters.

If you spend much time at Breitbart, you will read a lot of artsy Hollywood types who are socially liberal but hate how many on the left mock traditional values and invariably blame America first. They also see the cognitive dissonance of declaring yourself liberal yet cheering on an ever-growing omniscient and omnipresent Big Brother Government.
Daniel Knauf is the latest. He talks of achieving his dream of being a Hollywood screenwriter, and eventually learning that he was a conservative in the wake of 911. The nonstop orthodox liberal hallelujah choir of blame America first in his own workplace was the catalyst. He was shocked and scared into frozen incoherence. He describes a chilling encounter with a true-believer unsatisfied with his non-committal language and refusal to bash America's stupid cowboy president:
Then came Gerald Molen, Oscar-winning producer of Rain Man, Jurassic Park, and Schindler's List...
Andrew Breitbart is gone, but his spirit lives on...

She glared at me for a moment, as if attempting to x-ray my soul to determine whether I was a fellow-traveler, or something... else. Finally, she walked out to go write a check to PETA or shit herself over Global Warming or something. I was, for the moment anyway, safe. (Daniel Knauf – Chasing Andrew)He describes how liberating it was to meet Andrew Breitbart and to subsequently discover Hollywood was filled with conservatives.
Then came Gerald Molen, Oscar-winning producer of Rain Man, Jurassic Park, and Schindler's List...
The sad part is we have to get to the point of losing everything before we stand tall and state unequivocally, "No more. Stop the madness. Stop it now!"
Last month, the conservative side of politics lost a champion of truth and a strong voice in the conservative movement with the passing of Andrew Breitbart. He was a man of high intellect, vision and courage. He never backed away from a fight and was responsible for turning out those who sought to endear themselves at the public trough via their egregious actions and poor moral values. For a similar conversion story by a famous playwright, see David Mamet's Why I am no Longer a Brain Dead Liberal.
He disclosed them and brought them to the bar of justice for the American people to see and judge for themselves. He was a great example for all of us to aspire to. We cannot allow his passing to be just a closing of another chapter in the fortunes of America. We must carry his part of the burden he was so willing to share for all of us. (Hollywood Producer Slams Obama, Praises Breitbart)
Andrew Breitbart is gone, but his spirit lives on...
A champion for truth?
ReplyDeleteHave they released all the final tapes that are going to rock your world?
The fat pathetic clown was down to talking about the birth certificate in his last days.
A man of high intellect? Yeah, right.
Also when did David Mamet ever express a liberal sentiment? The guy specialized in libertarian scripts that involved someone fucking over someone else. He never expressed a liberal thought in his life.
He's a good stage writer but absolutely sucked the gas pipe as a film director. Couldn't learn how to manage a camera.
But I liked his little quip about NPR -- National Palestinian Radio. Pretty much exposes own mind set.
I defy you to show me ANYTHING in David Mamet's writing that is remotely liberal. Or are you nothing but a little circus monkey being let on a chain by the likes of an assrack like Andrew Breitbart?
Come on, what have you got?
And who the bleep is Daniel Knauf? His show was cancelled prematurely after critics had good things to say about everything but his writing which was widely panned.
ReplyDeleteThat's what you've got?
Boo Hoo! Ducky's got a boo boo!
ReplyDeleteIs that all I got? The men's words speak for themselves. Got a problem with their testimony? Then go take it up with them.
Their names are attached to famous works... and you're still just a bitter, hateful Beantown Quacker.
Thanks for playing
A post guaranteed to light up Duck's board and send him off in quacking frenzies.
ReplyDeletePity that I have to work all day. I'm going to miss out on the "fun."
Later.
Wow. Ducky has issues.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Breitbart was giant who showed others that they don't have to live in fear of the white liberal.
God bless him.
“fat pathetic clown…involved someone fucking over someone else….but absolutely sucked the gas pipe as a film director….. Or are you nothing but a little circus monkey being let on a chain by the likes of an assrack like Andrew Breitbart?”…. Seems you have struck a nerve here with Ducky, SF. :)
ReplyDeleteAgain Silver, when did Mamet ever express a liberal thought?
ReplyDeleteGlengarry Glen Ross your idea of a liberal world view?
Mamet's words, Ducky, not mine.
ReplyDeleteTake it up with him.
You chose to quote him as if it were significant.
ReplyDeleteApparently your research was as sound as Breitbat's.
I quote him accurately, and provide you the link to verify it for yourself.
ReplyDeleteDo you know how to read?
Good post SF. I used the link and read Mamet's article. I thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle when recalls his wife reading his face as they drove along listening to NPR. I mliked the example of the stranded unacquainted bus travelers getting things done that needed to be done. And Mamet’s observation that "the world in which I actually functioned day to day—was made up of people, most of whom were reasonably trying to maximize their comfort by getting along with each other (in the workplace, the marketplace, the jury room, on the freeway, even at the school-board meeting). I realized that the time had come for me to avow my participation in that America in which I chose to live, and that that country was not a schoolroom teaching values, but a marketplace."
No one was better at getting in the face of the lett than Breibart. Although you, Kurt, are doing a good job on Ducky.
ReplyDeleteBreitbart was a yellow journalist, and he's dead now. In a few years, he'll be forgotten.
ReplyDeleteYou guys need better heroes.
JMJ
Silverfiddle..it worked :-) Good job!
ReplyDeleteKeith Olberboob called her a "house-trained Fox News liberal,” giving his dozens of fans the green light to join the attack:
ReplyDelete*chortle* *snort*
Well, well.....
ReplyDeleteLeftyBoy sure twisted his panties into a bowline hitch.
So. much. anger.
..and at a former fellow traveller, too.
Hmmmm....guess awoken Leftists piss off sleepwalking drones. An important safety tip, kids.
Their names are attached to famous works... and you're still just a bitter, hateful Beantown Quacker.
ReplyDeleteI never realized Quakers were such bile spewing, hate infested, intellectually dishonest....
ohhhh, Quacker...
nevermind :-)
JMJ: Breitbart was a yellow journalist,
ReplyDeleteAs opposed to that epitome of documentarian rectitude Michael Moore?
viburnum, have you actually ever seen a Moore documentary?
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, to compare Andrew Breitbart to Michael Moore is as to compare James O'Keefe to Ken Burns, if you took it a little further in silliness.
It's a shame that you cons have such poor taste. Michael Moore is the greatest documentarian of Americana of our generation. But, just as you project your foaming-at-the-mouth irrational hatred on others, I guess it makes sense that you yourselves would be such knee-jerk, zombies of conservative "taste."
JMJ
@Jersey
ReplyDeleteYes I have seen some of his work, and it seems I'm not the only one who didn't appreciate it.
"... To describe this film as dishonest and demagogic would almost be to promote those terms to the level of respectability. To describe this film as a piece of crap would be to run the risk of a discourse that would never again rise above the excremental. To describe it as an exercise in facile crowd-pleasing would be too obvious. Fahrenheit 9/11 is a sinister exercise in moral frivolity, crudely disguised as an exercise in seriousness. It is also a spectacle of abject political cowardice masking itself as a demonstration of "dissenting" bravery. ..." Christopher Hitchens

Well said!
Jersey: " ...But, just as you project your foaming-at-the-mouth irrational hatred on others..."
ReplyDeleteMoi ???
Michael Moore is the greatest documentarian of Americana of our generation.
ReplyDelete=========
Actually Jersey, I'd say Fred Wiseman or Errol Morris, both liberals.
The larger question may be why can't conservatives make films.
"Michael Moore is the greatest documentarian of Americana of our generation."
ReplyDeleteMichael Moore is the Leni Reifenstahl of our time. He is a sneaky liar who covers his tracks by time sequence shifting, bald-faced obfuscation and out of context quotes.
He defamed a US Soldier, twisting his words to his own twisted agend. For that alone he should be horsewhipped and ran out of the country.
I heartily agree with Christopher Hitchen's most accurate opinion of that stinking ratbag's pile of excrement.
He may be a good filmmaker, but he is a propagandist, not a documentary maker.
It speaks volumes about you Jersey that you think otherwise.
Silver, if you are interested in documentary you may want to read up on Fred Wiseman.
ReplyDeleteHe's brilliant, he knows that documentary is all in the cutting and he realizes that any interesting documentary cannot be objective.
Moore is also a very good editor.
The right wing thinks Breitbart's cabana boy is an objective editor. Fascinating. I still want to know why right wingers can't make good films.
Well, Reifenstahl excepted, despite the content it's hard to deny the brilliance of "Triumph of the Will". Not that the film wasn't objectively true. It's all in the cutting.
Enough cannot be said about Mr. Breitbart. He was a man of integrity, strength and truly never ran from a fight.
ReplyDeleteWe need more like him to stand up and help the conservative movement and continue it's fight to preserve our great nation's heritage.
... it is instructive that when Michael Moore gores your ox, Silver, you really get amped.
ReplyDeleteImagine if Breitfart could hav hooked up with someone of Moore's skills.
Michael Moore's films will survive long after the worms have eaten down to Breitfart's bones. That must be what really frosts you.
No, I'm not frosted. I got a good chuckle seeing the Bag o Crap's latest outing tank at the theaters.
ReplyDeleteSilver: Interesting that you bait the all-too-predictable libtard crowd (at least in your readership) with anything related to Andrew Breitbart. How predictable (and loathesome, hateful, and disgusting) they are. Well done.
ReplyDeleteFYI, I met Breitbart last year and blogged about it here:
http://www.leftcoastrebel.com/2011/06/more-on-andrew-breitbart-in-newport.html
In Meeting Andrew Breitbart
LCR: It's like waving a picture of Emmanuel Goldstein in front of the indoctrinated proletariat...
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I'll check out the blog post.
Mamet never called for death camps, so Ducky's never going to accept him as being near his left wing redoubt.
ReplyDeleteSiver, Moore's last film was "Capitalism" A Love Story". It did good box office.
ReplyDelete"If you spend much time at Breitbart, you will read a lot.." of propaganda which isn't true, but it sure does satisfy the right-wing need for performance art which reaffirms their beliefs that conservatives are the free and righteous ones and liberals are the mean and evil ones...
ReplyDeleteWherever Lies are Told, Breitbart is Here!
Wherever Truth is Subverted, Breitbart is Here!
Wherever Propaganda is feed to the self-conditioned duped and battered conservative, Breitbart is Here!
Ducky, do you understand this has little to do with film making? ...you can veer in that direction to get off the major point, but this wasn't Andrew's goal; his goal was to expose;
ReplyDeleteSherrod's gone.
ACORN's closed down.
Michael Moore...who CARES? A good film. Bravo. :-)
Well z, Michael Moore crept into the thread and we all know about James O'Keefe, Andrew's absolutely brilliant videographer.
ReplyDeleteThen there's Silver claiming Moore's last film bombed. 18 million gross and a 7 million budget is hardly a bomb.
Compare to the satire of Moore, "An American Carol" which tanked and only got back half it budget. When you cast Kelsey Grammer as Patton it's not auspicious.
I still want to know why conservatives so rarely make a good film. I don't think the world interests them and they just don't have the imagination.
Michael Moore needs to familiarize himself with the works of Morgan Spurlock.
ReplyDeleteOops...too late
Seems he's already been "Supersized".
Now, tell me again who is a "fat pathetic clown"?
Cheers!
The right has no one with the talent and genius of Michael Moore, and so they decry him, like the old Puritans would decry a woman with a thought of her own, and then kill her.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'm sure next they'll decry Moore as being like woman, as if that would be a bad thing.
Morons.
JMJ
Your idol worship grows tiresome
ReplyDelete"...I became a lifetime member after the Columbine massacre because my first thought after Columbine was to run against Charlton Heston for the presidency of the NRA. You have to be a lifetime member to be able to do that, so I had to pay $750 to join. My plan was to get 5m Americans to join for the lowest basic membership and vote for me so that I'd win and dismantle the organization. Unfortunately, I figured that's just too much work for me so instead I made this movie."
http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2002/nov/11/usforeignpolicy.guardianinterviewsatbfisouthbank
Yeah that, and the fact that the President of the NRA is elected by the board, not voted for by the members.
Yeah...pure genius
Ducky: "...they just don't have the imagination."
ReplyDeleteI think you're on to something Ducky. We completely lack the ability to add 2 and 2 and come up with any other answer but 4. That would explain our not buying in to all the fanciful solutions to real world problems. As some wit put it, "Liberals believe that this could be the best of all possible worlds, conservatives know that it is."
BTW, giving Moore the Oscar for best documentary feature for Bowling for Columbine certainly took imagination. Documentaries are supposed to be NON-fiction. Him accepting it amounts to theft by deception, but deception apparently doesn't bother Moore.
vib: Moore later made a ton of money on the "Fahrenheit 9/11" film. A supposed documentary that was in reality even more a piece of fiction than Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451".
ReplyDelete-----------
Ducky said: "Siver, Moore's last film was "Capitalism" A Love Story". It did good box office."
Moore made his film with the help of government targeted tax breaks to help industry.
What do you think of that?
I'm the only one here with a balanced view of Moore, and I do happen to know more about him, his films, and career more than anyone else commenting here.
His "Capitalism" movie's main point wasn't very well thought out. He forgets that the alternatives to capitalism are far worse. But he did make some good points along the way, especially on the TARP bailout.
These bailouts were a massive gift to corporations, and were opposed by conservatives, Republicans, and those on the hard left like Moore. They were supported by Obama and most democrats. Never mind food stamps. Obama is the corporate welfare president.
Ducky said: "But I liked his little quip about NPR -- National Palestinian Radio. Pretty much exposes own mind set."
ReplyDeleteI remember this quote. It was a reasonable reaction to a trend by NPR toward pro-terrorist, antisemitic reporting.
Ducky "I still want to know why conservatives so rarely make a good film. I don't think the world interests them and they just don't have the imagination."
ReplyDeleteThink what you want...I'll say it again and maybe you can digest it; We're not interested in film making when it comes to social issues. We're interested in getting the real news out and film making is the farthest things from most responsible peoples' minds...thank GOD.
ACORN closed.
Sherrod fired. HOW many black farmers did she screw? I think it was 13,000?
wow
Z: Remember, Ducky says stuff just because it sounds good to him, whether or not it is true. And he never checks.
ReplyDeletePerfect example was when he said that Apple was abandoning the desktop.
I wondered about this myself, and knowing how reality is usually the opposite of of how Ducky says it is... I found out that 2011 was Apple's best year ever for Mac sales, they are coming out with more and more new models, and all industry analysts predict a strong growth trend in Apple desktop sales in fugure years.
It's always nice to see liberals waking up to their side. It's an ugly and scary place to be when you don't want to go along with the rabid herd and its current agenda.
