Progressivism is Slavery

One fundamental difference between progressive statists (mostly democrats but quite a few repubs as well) and those of us who love liberty, is how we view the state.  Constitutional conservatives and libertarians believe that the state serves the people, safeguarding our natural rights to pursue life, liberty and happiness.

Progressives believe the opposite:  We exist to serve the state.  Armies of bureaucrats, regulators and self-important poobahs are needed at every station of life and human activity to keep us in line and to protect us from ourselves.  They tax the productive class to pay for it, and "fair share" means whatever they say it means, so shut up and cough it up, there are "poor" people out there who can't pay for all the babies they're making.
Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin has angered two senators with his alleged decision to renounce his U.S. citizenship to save cash on taxes.
Senators Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Bob Casey (D-PA) announced today that they'll be holding a special news conference at 8 a.m. PT to unveil a plan designed to stop people from renouncing their U.S. citizenship to avoid paying taxes. In addition, the plan will describe a new law that would bar "individuals like Saverin from reentering the country." (CNET - Saverin)
Progressives, true to their totalitarian predilections, view people as chattle to be milked for the good of the state.
Schumer and Casey aren't happy. And in today's statement, said that his "avoidance scheme" could cost the U.S. up to $67 million in tax revenue. (CNET - Saverin)
It’s called freedom of movement you dictatorial morons!  At what point does such egregious and flagrant  constitutional ignorance become criminal?  Can we prosecute them for swearing a false oath?  How about criminal stupidity?

This is why progressives can never be trusted with power. To them, the individual is always subordinate to the state.

  1. Okay, the state is awful. And you know what's even worse than a Tyrannical state? Corporate control of the Government in which they bend the tyrannical power of the state to doubly shackle Americans.

And that's what we have now, Corporate Welfare Criminals who decry the Government all the while using the Government's power to enslave people.

But, since Corporations and Conservatives claim to champion liberty and freedom and small government that makes it okay.

Because if someone says they are true and just they ipso facto are...

  2. You're arguing with the wind, Gene. When has anyone here defended corporate welfare? We rail against it all the time!

You're still one-eye blind as well. The big crony crapitalists have as many dem politicians in their pockets as they do repubs. It is a bi-partisan freak show.

And the state is not awful, it is just out of control.

  3. It's time to wake up from this this gimme, gimme, gimme game that these liberal buffoons have bought. It's time to get off their lazy butts and work for what they want. It's time that they wake up and realize that they are not owed a damn thing.
And that if they want something they have to earn it.

"It’s called freedom of movement you dictatorial morons!"

    No. It is tax evasion.

Paying taxes are a privilege of being a part of a modern civil society. Taxes are people’s way of paying for services and benefits provided by their government. Taxes are a part of life. Taxes pay for expenditures on increases and improvements of infrastructure, of services, and of quality of life benefits that directly lead to more new jobs and higher quality of life! Increase in taxes pay for increases in benefits to society.

It is the right of every person to pay the least amount of taxes legally. EVADING paying taxes is not legal (ask Al Capone, tax cheat, scum, and criminal).

The people’s government representatives going after tax cheats who take advantage of society’s benefits while not paying for them is the right thing to do. You know; law and order. The RepublicanT Party once pretended to be the party of 'law and order'.

So if Mr Eduardo Saverin (job creator – in Singapore) should not pay his fair share of taxes in USA, who should? When you pay Paris Hilton’s taxes for her, do you expect to get kissed by her?

    _________

"... the individual is always subordinate to the state."

In USA the state is the individual and the individual is the state. Remember, government of the people, by the people, for the people.

    Cheers!

  7. Silverfiddle, it's that your focus is never on Corporate Welfare, you let the corporate cheats lead you blindly towards Teachers Unions! and the UAW, ignoring the damage caused by saw franking or the theft of billions by Boeing when it overcharges for every contract or it promises to stay in Kansas "In 2008, Boeing asked Kansas officials to help win a $3.5 billion contract for 18 Air Force tankers. Wichita's Mayor Carl Brewer says Kansas had a long history of coming through for Boeing. In fact, Axelrod notes that Boeing received 650 tax breaks over the last 30 years and $3.5 billion dollars in bonds." and then quietly leaves.

Or that the Solyndra loan guarantee was a multi-year process that the Bush Administration launched in 2007.

In January 2009, Bush tried to strong-arm the Department of Energy into pushing the Solyndra loan before a credit review board, to show how much Bush loved Clean Energy. Read here for a Timeline of Solyndra Loan.

It's all about the selective information your Corporate Controllers allow you to have access to. It's not that your outrage is wrong or that you or other conservatives are stupid, it's that the Koch Brothers and the Breitbart's let you only know certain things and then they massage you into getting angry at the wrong people.

Meanwhile, the Wall street thieves, DoD criminals and Banking Frauds steal TRILLIONS and the right gets mad at Obama...

But, I know we shall never meet on this issue because you believe the problems begin with Progressively controlled Government and I believe it begins with the 1% control of Government.

  8. Auto-correct is stupid " by saw franking" above should read by gas fracking...

  9. By the logic (illogic) of Schumer and Casey, those that have left states like Californai and New York to live in states with lower taxes are quilty of tax evaision as well.
You are right, Kurt. This level of stupidity should be a crime. These people are too dangerous to be alowed to roam free on the streets of America.

  10. Schumer and Casey are advocating a type of Berlin Wall.

Soon enough, we'll all be subjected to a "world income tax" -- by a high-sounding euphemis, I'm sure.

  11. No Ema, it is not tax evasion. They are lamenting over future taxes forgone by his renouncing his citizenship. There are laws on the books for tax evasion.

And your little preachy ending shows you misunderstood the post. I'm the one arguing for individual liberty.

  12. Gene: Corporate welfare is wrong regardless of who does it.

And you description fits perfectly your side, taking talking points from angry lefty sites and never pausing to investigate both sides.

  13. Tax evasion? Really Emma?

You know, based on observation and what most libs actually say and write, I would wager close to half of them don't even fully understand their side.

  14. Well welcome to America! Where an unelected person such as Moochie Obama tells us what to eat, what to drink, what to drive, what to smoke or not smoke.
But Her Husband don't give a crap! He does whatever he wants to do regardless.
Besides, How can you listen to someone with a Butt the size of Texas who tells you what to eat?
Do you feel sorry for the sheep that follow these progressive demons so blindly and willingly? Let me see............ NO!!!
So what is the solution? Vote the BUMS out!

  16. Lucky for me I am stuck with Schumer, another dem who will say anything he needs to at the time and loves the sound of his own voice.
Too bad he isn't as concerned as the 47% who pay no federal income tax.
Can't insult his voting base I guess.

  17. Lisa, I'll trade you one Schumer for my Pelosi, BOXER, and Feinsteinn...
Oh, never mind....I think I'd rather any of them to Schumer, you're right :-) (and, trust me, that's REALLY going some)

I believe Saverin was born in Brazil of Eastern Jewish parents, no? So, he became a naturalized American citizen, I'm guessing?

Schumer and Casey are going to make a LAW against renouncing citizenship? And then punish him so he can't come back? I've been to Singapore a couple of times, where he's moving to...if America goes the way the left seems to plan for it to go, and I had money, I'd be buying a suite at the WONDERFUL hotel RAFFLES (foundeded by Armenians, by the way!) and be happy to do so.
Some big punishment: America; where you aren't rewarded for success anymore, they tell you what your kids should be eating, illegals can break the law and get paid for being here, we pay for single girls' contraception and killing babies, too, small businesses are dying under the weight of gov't restrictions, capitalism suddenly sinks, and you're supposed to overlook lies about our president.
Versus RAFFLES in Singapore and spicy crab at the harbor?
    :-)

Here's why I'm a little down on America today. You know I love this country but seeing things like this really gets to me. I'd blogged it before but Mustang just reminded me of it and so I just blogged it again.
We can't see this enough...would that the media'd use this as it should :-(

  23. If I had to pay millions of dollars in taxes, I would probably renounce my citizenship as well.

The guy worked his butt off to get his company off the ground and he is expect to pay taxes for people to darn lazy to get off their butts and find jobs and make it easier on all of us.

Enough of this socialism garbage. Vote the Obama's and their cronies out of office.

Only one way to do that. Shrink government. The labyrinth of bureauocracy, a lazy media (I'm being nice)and a tangled nightmare of counterproductive legislation allows them to hide in plain sight. If, they even bother to hide at all.

If government does not have the ability to wield power arbitrarily, then there is no advantage to seeking favor. One would have to be incredibly stupid, or a liberal, to believe we can legislate away cronyism.

If you think crony capitalists are bad, wait til the crony socialists really grab hold.

Eliminate the governments' ability to pick winners and beat lawyers daily.....

    ...with blunt instruments.

The temper tantrum, when the crack is witheld, will be brutal. I doubt the political will exists to do that.

cheats lead you blindly towards Teachers Unions! and the UAW, ignoring the damage caused by saw franking or the theft of billions by Boeing when it overcharges for every contract or it promises to stay in Kansas "In 2008, Boeing asked Kansas officials to help win a $3.5 billion contract for 18 Air Force tankers.

See above. One small caveat though re: USAF tankers. Who else is going to build them? Lockheed? Not an ideal situation, but without choice of provider, the taxpayer ends up over a barrel in a sellers' market. If the costs are justified, you have to pay the price. If they are trying to pad the bill, that's what all the government accounting bureaucracies are for, aren't they? They don't seem to work so well.

If there is criminal overcharging, prosecute to the extent allowed.

  30. Heaven forbid that driving away creative, ingenious, inventive, industrious, and successful people might prompt Schumer and Casey to actually examine our policies with an eye to finding out what they're doing wrong.

It just couldn't be the fault of government, could it?

  31. You gotta love the unintended consequences these morons are caterwauling over, they threaten to raise taxes, smear, deride and run a class war against the rich; then cry foul when the rich decide to pack up and shove off.

Good on this Eduardo Saverin fellow, he's obviously paid his taxes until now, so he doesn't owe anyone a red cent no matter how whiny and itchy liberal fascists feel about it. Let him take his money to wherever he doesn't have to give it away to sniveling, ungrateful parasites.

  32. Can you imagine what life would be like if the long-held Progressive Dream Vision of UNIFIED WORLD GOVERNMENT were ever fully achieved and implemented?

The concept of INTERNATIONALISM is the CURSE of the modern world.

    A hideous irony:

Once upon a time WE were the place the wretched of the earth came to in order to escape from tyranny. NOW many of our highest achievers are desperately trying to find ways to escape from US! Thanks to Progressivism WE are the NEW tyrants.

  33. "Find jobs?" Where are all the jobs promised by the Republican crap about trickle down? We have been cutting taxes for 30 years and we are bankrupt with high unemployment. And we didn't get there in the last 3 years of Obama. Why would anyone back a proven losing political ideology?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Unemployment has been incredibly low ever since Reagan turned Carter's dismal economy around. It's been working for the past 30 years, through democrat and republican presidents.

Things were fine until the Government-created mortgage collapse.

Why would anyone back a proven losing political ideology?

Obama is clueless, so I agree with you. Why would anyone vote to reelect this failure of a president?
