How Romney can Seal the Deal

Here’s how Romney can seal the deal:

Stop running from the fact that he’s a rich and powerful man and instead embrace it.  Take that nasty Democrat party-created negative and turn it into a positive.

This is still America. We don't hate rich people; we want to be like them!

Mitt should come right out and say it:
“Yes, I am rich, and I want you to be rich too. Having your own money, and you own means of wealth creation opens up a whole new world for you. You gain an independence and self-esteem that empowers you to steer your own life with dignity, instead of being herded like cattle by an overbearing, faceless government.”
He should continue...
"Under a Romney presidency, I will call off the brigades of bureaucratic regulators who are besieging the entrepreneurs and the job creators, and we will drill and manufacture and innovate.
You want to start your own business?  I'll remove the red tape and break down those government-imposed barriers for you so you can be your own boss."
We all want to get rich, and Romney is Tony Robbins on steroids. He needs to embrace who he is and bring it to the masses.

It wouldn’t hurt to employ Clint Eastwood’s quote, either:
“When somebody does not do the job, we gotta let him go.”

  1. Only Obama has been successful pretending to be something he is not. Romney has nothing to be ashamed of. He should, as you say, embrace his achievements.

  2. Romney's father used to say: "Don't make your mortgage payment dependent on your election."

I read somewhere that Mitt Romney hasn't accepted a dime of salary for any office he has held. Does anyone here know if that's true?

  3. We all want to get rich

    No kidding!

In my view, with wealth comes the responsibility to help others who are "down and out." I mean, through no fault of their own.

It is highly rewarding spiritually to give others a leg up. I'm not referring to giving to a church or to organized charities; rather, I'm referring to individuals and families whom we personally know.

  4. Perhaps, just maybe someday we'll stop believing that it is only government that holds us down and realize the REAL power is held by the oligarch puppet masters controlling the government(s) from behind the curtain. Think about it.

  5. Time is running short for folks to get the hang of it regarding how our economic system works. Until then, lot of luck.

  6. "Mitt Romney hasn't accepted a dime of salary for any office he has held..."

If you refer to elective office, he's only held one, one term as Massachusetts governor, and he did not take the $140 thousand dollar salary.

He said of his speaking fees for one year of $374 thousand "I get speaker's fees from time to time, but not very much." So I guess $140,000 would be pin money to him.

  10. Will the debates be on Liberal Ideology Vs. Conservative Ideology?
I truly believe that most Americans these days have no idea of how ignorant and misinformed they are and kept that way by today's Liberal media. Even and especially college students who are a product of today’s liberal or much worse progressive education, and who are brain-washed by the ultra Progressive teachings of the Leftist Professors. It has been proven that 72 percent of those teaching at American Universities and Colleges are liberal and a mere 15 percent are conservative..
Today’s College graduates are like little windup dolls, whatever they are taught they swallow, they have no minds of their own and this is your Progressives of today. It seems as it the main thing on their minds is who is going to give them Free Cell Phones!
As for the debates, the media isn’t going to judge the debates on what is said or on who had the best ideals, plans etc, but on the amount of Mitt Romney's gaffes.
Not only do they not know much basic history, most of what they have been led to believe is false, deliberately twisted, spun
Barack Obama and the Democrat/Liberal Party are living proof that the Leftist zombies rule the Media, the movie industry, the TV industry, the entertainment industry, colleges and universities, public education, law schools, and every place else that counts. All you have to do is to listen to the crap that comes out of a Rap singers filthy mouth to understand what I am saying.
So what are we to do? Are we to just put up our hands and give up? No, I say no because things are looking up. And why do I say that? First, the bad news,, Barack Obama is the worst president that the USA has ever seen, and he has influenced our young people beyond what they could have ever imagined. Now, the good news: I believe Barack Obama has awakened a sleeping giant in the age group of 18 to 29. Today’s counterculture is rejecting the un-American and idiotic Progressive policy agenda pushed by this president and his socialist sycophants. President Hopey Changey and Democrats in Congress have shown that their incomprehensible deficit spending and a national debt that is climbing minuet by minuet and is currently at the unheard of figure of 16 trillion, has made these kids rebel quickly. And yes, Osama bin Laden is dead, and so is our economy.
And hopefully that’s what we can look forward to with a President Romney in 2013

Obama and the Democrat party have demonstrated the unliklihood of that.

  14. Well, Silver, you are correct that the stream of suckers is constant and the likes of the American media has helped grease the production line but you dismiss the role of The Austrian Book of Common Prayer at your own risk.

  15. Romney some how must talk about this latest disaster in Libya. It should have been brought to the public’s eye as well as to our congress people every other leader in Washington a long time ago, and yet it’s being silenced. .. Im tired of them only worrying about their own re-election and how the liberal media is gonna react. Its time to DO the job you are running for constantly, and quit talking about how good you Senators, Congressmen and Women, Representatives all are. This is how we got the phony in the White House to begin with. Its time to quit playing politics, and get to the bottom of this. It was Obama’s fault that al Qaeda got these weapons , which they used to blow up our consulate and kill our ambassador. So what else would he do but lie about it! And Romney needs to make that clear. Obama is lying and the Media is once again not doing it's job and reporting on this scandal. Nothing is being reported by the network newscasts, morning or night. People are dead and Obama is getting a free pass. Any Republican president would have been crucified for this by now.. But I'm not holding my breath.

  16. Les, of course, appears to be the only one -- besides me, of course ;-) -- who understands what the problem REALLY is.

We are, indeed, ruled by The Hidden Hands of self-anointed Oligarchs -- i.e. megalomaniacal control freaks, who either truly believe they know what's best for everyone, and thus deserve to dictate terms - OR - they are taking advantage of their unique positions of influence and power to shape global policy to benefit themselves and secure their permanent ascendancy.

Given the grim realities inherent in human nature, I imagine the latter scenario is far more likely than the former, although it's entirely possible these would-be Masters of the Universe have managed to convince themselves that their selfishness, conceit, greed, arrogance, overweening ambition and ruthlessness are saintly qualities bound to be used for the betterment of all mankind.

    Sic semper tyrannis!

The trick is to learn how to understand who the tyrants really are. Too often they appear disguised as "Saviors," and "Avenging Angels," when in fact they are DEMONS who abase themselves only before the Throne of Evil.

I shall watch tomorrow night's debate in hope of finding evidence that Governor Romney does NOT intend merely to "take a dive" as John McCain, George Herbert Walker Bush, Bob Dole, and Gerald Ford were obviously chosen to do by the corrupt party establishment who are owned and operated by The Oligarchs.

With home mortgage rates as high as EIGHTEEN-PERCENT under Jimmaninny Peanut there really wasn't much even The Oligarchs could do to stop Mr. Reagan from winning the presidency in 1980. Unfortunately under the de facto One Party Rule we've been subjected to since Mr. Reagan left office, The Oligarchs have greatly strengthened their deathgrip on Absolute Power.

If Romney takes the dive I reluctantly expect him to during the debates, I shall know it is all over for The United States of America.

If Romney merely waltzes around the boxing ring and graciously lets Obozo knock him out, only a bloodly revolution where millions are willing to stand their ground and be mowed down en masse by government howitzers and untold thousands of unmanned drones -- unless the entire population becomes so enraged they'd literally rather DIE than live as slaves to the Oligarchs -- it's inevitable that we will, indeed become slaves to The Oligarchs.

And I got news for ya: All the facts and statistics in the world won't save us in a world where "The Ministry of Truth" is permitted to decide whether red-handed evidence is in fact true -- or not.

Amidst all the moaning, groaning, sneering, sniping and fervent exhortation the sound of SNORING is vastly predominant.

"Those who expect to reap the blessing of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it."

    ~ Thomas Paine (1737-1809)

Tom Paine, the flaming egalitarian whose pamphlet Common Sense is credited with having sparked the American Revolution, may have had socialistic tendencies before socialism existed, but he certainly was correct in the observation quoted above.

  17. Stevie

I'm not a real fan of Robbins but he does teach self motivation.
You are the only one who says the 99%, no one else says that or believes that.

Motivational speakers do not create millionaires they just inspire people to try harder and work smarter. You mentioned that Obama does not create jobs so it is not his fault the unemployment is so high for so long. I agree Obama does not create jobs unless you consider welfare and food stamps as a career choice.

  28. Silver, I wonder how many people struggling to make the mortgage payment and put food on the table are thinking if I could just start a company?

Where does Mitt, with all of his riches, connect with the guy who just wants to work a stable job for 40 years and then retire?

That guy is not thinking about regulations. How does your idea get translated to that guy?

He's not trying to get rich, he's just trying to survive.

Who is speaking for that guy?

A larger question for Mitt and the GOP is this... how will you increase demand for goods and services in our economy to a level that will cause expansion of production?

No business is going to spend money on extra labor until there is demand.. and demand isn't going to grow until there is more money in peoples pockets.

And those pockets are not going to be full for years. We, as Americans have too much debt that we must pay first.

Unlike corporations, we do not have the ability to declare bankruptcy on Monday and on Tuesday have access to credit so we can start over.

We are in a world of hurt and neither candidate is addressing the real world issues here.

And Anita, in case you are a little confused at the debate as to why your questions are not being addressed, it's because this debate will focus on domestic, not foreign policy.

  29. Dave, as always well spoken, the evidence of more than just surface level thought.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Dave: Good questions, but more importantly, since he is president, how does Obama connect with such a guy?

He has nothing in common with working people, and that's never been an impediment to the presidency anyway.

Further, I think you misunderestimate working people. They are smart enough to know that if the big, fat, bloated federal government has got his ass on business owners, crushing them, that that means no jobs.

Create demand? You mean like the federal government did with the housing market by keeping interest rates artificially low and incentivizing lending institutions to make irresponsible loans?

    You mean like that?

An economy is an organic thing with millions of moving parts and signals. History has shown us that it is folly to think a wizened group of eggheads can manipulate and control it.

We need sensible and minimal regulations and nothing more. People will risk their money, sweat and time if there is a reasonable expectation of a payoff. Right now, there is not.

BTW, Dave, You are the most pleasant liberal on the innerwebz.

  31. Blueblood? I know you've heard it bandied about, but do you even know what the term means?

I hardly think the son of a man whose grandparents were refugees, whose father started out in life picking beets and plastering walls until the depression hit can be considered blueblood.

Now, if you want a good example of a blueblood, look no further than the Boston Brahmin John Kerry, who traces his ancestry back through the Forbes, Dudleys, Bradstreets, and Winthrops... yeah, those Winthrops. You know, John Winthrop... a founder and governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.

Son, you wouldn't know a blueblood if one bit you in the ass.

    Cheers!

  32. I am glad there are rich people. They provide jobs. I have a friend who is an orthopedic surgeon that has many workers under him, my boss, my husband's company.

  38. @Ducky EST! When I was in university a gal sat next to me on a Monday morning in anatomy class who had attended an EST gathering all weekend in Los Angeles. She started crying out of the blue. I asked what the hell happened and she stated that she was learning to free herself from her past" at an EST gig over two 15hr days.

EST eventually became Landmark and about ten years ago I went to an afternoon guest of somebody going through the program. They wouldn't tell me why I was the guest or what we would be doing.

Later I found out they were trying to repair our relationship that I thought was spectacular :-)

I said, "doode, why didn't you just say something?" "You could have saved 4k and our time."

Romney should not be scared of attacking obama, ultimately we all know the obots won't change their minds, but the more rational people are no longer concerned about being accused of racism anymore, they're past that crap thankfully. And they are the key to this election.
