Vatican Goes Green
Why do I go over to HuffPo? Look at this stupid headline:
Pope trades in sulfur-powered Christianity for enviro-friendly Gaia Worship
VATICAN CITY – The U.N. chief opened a Vatican conference on the environment by praising Pope Francis for declaring climate change is an urgent moral imperative, saying his upcoming encyclical combined with a new round of U.N. climate talks in Paris provide an "unprecedented opportunity" to create a more sustainable financial future for the UN, its staff of climate scientists, and well-connected green energy companies around the globe.
Doctor Frankie Crabbe-Dykstra--the UN Special Rapporteur for Climate Change Impact on the Impoverished, Disadvantaged and Persecuted--was on hand for the conference, along with her partner, Jo Bearde, an ardent Catholic. Crabbe-Dykstra gave the Argentinian pontiff a tentative thumbs up.
"This Pope is clearly putting the people first with his pro-environment, anti-capitalist stance, and I applaud him for that."
Bearde clasped her partner's hand and added, “Francis’s moral authority is overwhelmingly and world-wide, and I think that poses a huge problem for conservatives and climate change deniers.”
Environmentalists are eagerly awaiting the Pope's highly-anticipated climate change encyclical.
