Written by Victor Hely-Hutchinson in 1927. He was born in Capetown, South Africa (Cape Colony) in 1901 and was considered a child prodigy composing music before the age of ten. He died in 1947 of pneumonia at the age of 45, fuel being expensive and still rationed... he refused to turn on the radiators in his office. You'll undoubtedly pick up bits and pieces of familiar Christmas tunes throughout the composition:
