What happened to the Modern Whig Party?

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away (okay it was 2012), we posted an article about the Modern Whig Party.  What happened to it?

Billing itself as the spearhead of a pragmatic, centrist, solutions-oriented political movement dedicated to the restoration of representative government in our nation. It had great aspirations.

At the time of the article they had ballot access in New Jersey, since then they've gotten ballot access in Kentucky.

Since the the first person running as a Whig in 160 years was elected in Pennsylvania: Robert Bucholz elected as Judge of Elections in the fifth division of Philadelphia's 56th ward (Interview).  Along with J. Brendan Gallagan elected to a school board in Westfield, New Jersey.

Can you name a Whig running for president this go around?  Neither could I.  Despite that they are having a convention 21 May at the Airport Crowne Plaza in Indianapolis.

What is with third parties in the US?  Are the failings theirs? Do the American people not want alternative parties or is it the machinations of the big two to exclude them?  Is it as Gary Johnson alleges... is the system rigged?

Here's a question for you all... are you happy with your party?  Do you feel that their behavior holds true to the platform and pledges they put before you and the rest of America?

Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio... is this really the best that we can do?  Is this the best that we have to offer?
