Obama's Mouthpieces

By Hugh Farnham

Any strongman worthy of the name needs an army - of mouthpieces.  This demagogue is no different.

Call them Plumbers, Mr. Fix-its, or Mouthpieces; their mission is always the same.  Stanch the flow of blood, divert attention, outright lie, or dole out information late Friday night in drips and drabs.

Fast and Furious

The Administration was funneling illegal arms into Mexico over the past few years to create shocking firearm smuggling statistics, in time to justify signing the UN Small Arms Treaty.  This incendiary truth had to be squelched, and right quick.  Bring in Soros and Media Matters, loyal troops in the War Against Truth.

The Daily Caller unveiled  the DOJ's Public Affairs was working closely with Mark Gertz of Media Matters.  This collusion was for a coordinated barrage of attacks against House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, along with others demanding a full accounting of the whole "F and F" operation.

Consider Obama's amazing hypocrisy in light of the Connecticut  murders, for which the Gunrunner-In-Chief squirted tears on TV.  But no wet eyes for hundreds of Mexicans killed by guns purchased by the ATF using Stimulus Dollars.

Benghazi

The Administration didn't send out some State Department bureaucrat to lie to us, but the UN Ambassador Susan Rice.  She regaled us with stories about the casus belli video and supposed protests going on near the consulate.  Both turned out to be lies.

Now You Try Saying It!
ObamaCare

Spin Doctor Sanjay Gupta - you know of him, the didactic MD on CNN telling you to eat your veggies - made the rounds prior to the Supreme Court ruling with a sky-will-fall horror story if ObamaCare was declared unconstitutional. So it was declared "constitutional" and yes, the sky will still fall.

This list could go on and on, with an endless line of politicians, actors, and socialites the length of a fat plumber's crack.

So what really is that oral appliance?  It's an Asian Face Slimmer!

When "information" has completely escaped the constraints of reality,
you have Hugh's post. I don't think this is what Jefferson had in mind.
Hold tight to your fantastical, paranoid conspiracies, where each
piece of contrary evidence is further proof of the massive "cover up".

Sweet Jesus, 49% of Republicans believe ACORN, which hasn't existed for 2 years, stole the 2012 election.

Hugh, have you heard? Bill Ayers is the illegitimate son of Saul Alinsky. Ayers and Obama were joined in a Commitment Ceremony performed by Rev. Wright. Look into it.

  4. Where's the conspiracy? He's addressing administration apologists.

Are you saying Fast and Furious didn't happen?

Are you one of the dupes who believe Benghazi was caused by a YooToob video?

The results of a PPP push poll are not nearly as dangerous as the progressive belief that we can continue to spend money we don't have in perpetuity. Now that is childish naivete, but thanks for stopping by.

  5. More on the "49% of Republicans think Acorn stole the election for Obama...

Here is the question that garnered the 49% result:

Q8 Do you think that Barack Obama legitimately won the Presidential election this year, or do you think that ACORN stole it for him?

So PPP, a liberal-biased arm of the Democrat party, decided to do a little post-election dance on the faces of those stupid conservatives.

This is no a serious polling firm, and as usual, something that sounds damning on the surface for conservatives is revealed to be just more red propaganda from the left.

Thank you Craig for bringing us this to lighten our day!

    Craig:

Let's see here: this article is supported by FOIA documents, straight from the government itself.

What, do you think those ACORN workers just swore off subverting the electoral process and went home to collect welfare? The M.O. of these types is simply to change the name of the organization and keep hammering away.

Even if ACORN simply vanished and every operative went into the missing persons file, their massive voter registrations still reside in county seats and will pay off huge political dividends for years to come.

The mainstream press is dying (thankfully) a slow and painful death. Who really watches CNN anymore? At times Anderson Cooper has only 8,000 viewers watching. In a nation of 310,000,000.

When facts have no traction then the populace will have the overbearing government it deserves:

The demoralization process in the United States is basically completed already for the last 25 years... Most of it is done by Americans to Americans thanks to lack of moral standards. As I mentioned before, exposure to true information does not matter anymore. A person who was demoralized is unable to assess true information. The facts tell nothing to him, even if I shower
him with information, with authentic proof, with documents and pictures.

    AoW:

Great quote. The good news is that Americans are turning to the alternative media for truth - and getting it. No more Mr. "That's the way it is" Cronkite. There is a thirst for truth out there, still.

There always will be a segment of the population, say 30%, that will consistently defer to those in authority, worship people who claim nobility, and slurp up any Pravda without questioning from the government-media complex.

Proudly, people like us have evolved.

The Foia docs reveal correspondence between DOJ's media relations person and a member of the media. Shocking. The IG and House investigations show the admin. and DOJ had no knowledge of F and F. It was an internal ATF operation. You state as fact,

The Administration was funneling illegal arms into Mexico over the past few years to create shocking firearm smuggling statistics, in time to justify signing the UN Small Arms Treaty.

    Tin foil hat stuff.

As for Benghazi, Susan Rice repeated what she was told by Intelligence. That there was a conspiracy to blame it on the video, even if true, so what? What's to gain by lying about it? The investigation found inadequate planning and protection. That's bad. Why not stick with what's real.

What, do you think those ACORN workers just swore off subverting the electoral process and went home to collect welfare?

It was ACORN that reported registration fraud committed by their employees. Fraudulent registration is quite different from voter fraud. No reports of Mickey Mouse showing up to vote. And, yes, the Super Secret Underground Acorn Society for Subverting America exists. They could be behind you in the grocery line or next to you on the bus or, UNDER YOUR BED! Stay vigilant, Hugh.

This is no a serious polling firm,

Compare their results with Rasmussen or Gallup. They're pretty serious. I admit, the question is a bit silly but 'asked and answered'. The replies are even sillier from the silliest people ever.

This is much like a murder trial. Imagine a husband who successfully poisons his wife over a period of a few months. Hard evidence is hard to come by, but the prosecutor brings up a comment he made at a bar while he was slowly killing his wife. "In a few months I'll be free of that ball-and-chain - I have some things going on under the radar" he says to a drinking buddy, who is later called to testify in his capital murder trial. Is that germane to the trial? You bet. Obama said in March of 2011 to Sarah Brady regarding gun control: "I just want you to know that we are working on it,” Brady recalled the
president telling them. “We have to go through a few processes, but
    under the radar.”
Little goes on at this level that Obama and his Chief of Staff don't know about. To tell me he didn't know about Fast and Furious is a conspiracy theory that doesn't pass the giggle test. I believe he knew. He approved. He was disappointed it got uncovered before the UN Small Arms Treaty.

Obama said in March of 2011 to Sarah Brady

Your, so called, quote was taken from a Wapo profile of Steve Croley written by Jason Horowitz. Third person, hearsay evidence in your murder case. Here's what Sarah Brady had to say when asked about the quote,

"I so remember (Jason) Horowitz -- he was at the press get-together in
the briefing room after our meeting. (Her husband) Jim was asked lots of
questions -- then (Horowitz) followed me as we walked out of the
briefing room until he got back into the main part of the West Wing. He
kept trying to pin me down -- asking what I thought -- I was trying to
be evasive as I didn't want to paint Obama as with us or against us --
as we hadn't really talked about it. If I remember correctly, I just
kept shaking my head and trying to get away from him. What ever I might
have said or agreed to was purely speculative as I never spoke to the
    president myself about this issue."

You pass the giggle test, Hugh. I can't stop chuckling.

  19. Regardless of the controversy of the day, the press both left and right has been corrupted by politics, money, and ratings. They preach what they think sells to the largest audience and grabs the most ratings, not necessarily what's legitimate news. It's infotainment folks... not news. The days of Woodward and Bernstein are long gone, content yourself with backyard gossip of who's doing who from here on out.

I took a look at the pedigree of that quote. My sense is that Mrs. Brady is backtracking from an accurate statement - she's evasive like Hillary and her flu, her fall, her morning sickness after getting recently pregnant from Bill. If I could only line up the dead law-abiding victims who normally would have been armed but weren't when a thug came knocking - all due to the Brady Campaign of Victim Disarmament. This from a lady who has worn out several wheelchairs pushing Mr. Brady around and feathering her nest at the same time with the Brady Campaign.

Okaaay... Obama stopped Fast and Furious. Right. More like a whistle blower got involved and the press took it from there. A dead INS agent didn't help, either. Funny thing about this government. How many ATF agents have lost their jobs because of this (not been reassigned, or retired, or changed desks)? Only one that I know of - the honest agent who blew the whistle. All others have been reassigned or retired with pensions. Perhaps promoted.

  23. Love your "illustrations." Very funny -- and very much to the point. What else do we get -- or could we expect to get -- from that benighted sector called "the left" other than out-and-out lies or grotesque distortions.

Trying "converse" or "reason" with leftists is all but impossible. They simply meet you with a seemingly inexhaustible supply of stock phrases, standard questions, insults and snide remarks.

I used to believe that making the effort to give leftists a straight answer might possibly produce some change for the better -- however minute -- but as I've said many times, it's more rewarding to converse with a telephone pole -- or a brick wall -- than a leftist.

If you try to have honest dialogue with these creatures, addressing them respectfully with whatever label they choose to wear at any given moment, you will find yourself trying to explain -- for the ten thousandth time -- WHY the WHEEL proved helpful in the advancement of Civilization.

If you allow it, they will have you do this over and over again till you finally collapse from sheer exhaustion.

Leftists do not want to listen and learn; their primary objective is to EXHAUST and CONFOUND with endless fusillades of ferocious fatuity.

Life to them is one big Court Trial accompanied by YOUR migraine headache.

Thanks for the revealing comment, Lester. Whenever liberals are confronted with an inconvenient truth, they are apt to cry out "conspiracy tin-foil hat theory" - everything in my past quote is true to my knowledge. Whistle blower blew the whistle. Check. INS agent Terry killed by guns purchased by the ATF and given to Mexican criminals. Check. None of these Soviet-style ATF thugs summarily fired except for the whistle blower himself. Check.
