Ted Cruz

Well, the convention is over and Donald Trump is the Republican nominee. The question is this:

Did Ted Cruz commit political suicide on national TV at the Republican National Convention?

Was Trump the better man for having invited him and given the opportunity to speak?

Was Cruz petty and shallow in his refusal to endorse?  Should he have just stayed home if he wasn't going to endorse?

What do you think of Ted Cruz now?

Ted Cruz 2016

Anointed by God or Mad as a Hatter?

Or, as some claim... is he just full of gas

The story is that God speaking through Heidi Cruz has endorsed Ted Cruz:

We were on our knees for two hours seeking God's will. At the end of that time, a word came through his wife, Heidi. And the word came, just saying, "Seek God's face, not God's hand." And I'll tell you, it was as if there was a cloud of the holy spirit filling that place. Some of us were weeping, and Ted just looked up and said, "Lord, here am I, use me. I surrender to you, whatever you want."
Now I know this to be false because just the other night when we were, coincidentally, playing Texas Hold'em with Moses and Abraham, he clearly and distinctly told me he was voting for Gary Johnson. God is after all, a libertarian; you're free to accept him or turn away from him, and in the end you suffer the consequences of your own actions.

Now I normally don't visit the sins of the father upon the son, or the sins of their relatives upon politicians, i.e. Billy Carter.  But having your father go out and stump for you was really a bad decision opening you up for public ridicule.  You're fair game Ted. In the end is there really that much of a difference between Rafael Cruz and Mullah Omar?

If he'll lie to the people of Iowa...

I've read many conservative commenters defending Ted Cruz's Iowa shenanigans:

"Breaking news. The press is reporting that Dr. Ben Carson is taking time off from he campaign trail after Iowa and making a big announcement next week.

Please inform any Carson caucus goers of this news and urge them to caucus for Ted Cruz."

Cruz subsequently issued an apology.

Did it effect the outcome of the Iowa Caucus? Doesn't matter...

If Candidate Cruz's campaign will lie to Iowa voters, President Cruz's administration will likely lie to the American public.  I'm no fan of Carson and whatever chance Cruz had of eliciting my support was dead after this. I have become sickened by the Republican Party and its candidates...

And the Frontrunners are...

Rand Paul - 31%

Ted Cruz - 11%

 Ben Carson 9%

CPAC

These are the results of the CPAC/Washington Times straw poll.  Rand Paul increased his performance from last year, climbing 6%, Ted Cruz also improved over last year rising 7%.  New Jersey Governor Chris Christie improved slightly from 7% to 8% finishing fourht.  Marco Rubio plunged from a 23% second place finish last year down to only 6% this year and Paul Ryan fell from 6% to 3%.

Of course these results are far more reflective of the 2,459 CPAC attendees that participated than Republican voters in general.
