A Liberal Loudmouth Falls Silent

Anthony Weiner finally did the right thing yesterday and resigned amid a hail of heckles and catcalls.  His demeanor was inappropriate, more like a heroic Lou Gehrig bidding goodbye to his fans instead of a shamed pervert slinking off the national stage.

Regardless, he took full responsibility for his actions and gave a public apology to the nation. I wish him well on his road to recovery.  I take no joy in the humiliating downfall of others, not even grandstanding liberal slanderers.  We're all human, and there but for the grace of God go I.

I will continue to heap scorn upon the dimbulbs in his district who were prepared to vote for him again.  They are what's wrong with this country.  Our standards have sagged to an unacceptable low, and then we wonder why this country is so screwed up.  Private behavior should stay private.  Pestering people with naked pictures of yourself disqualifies you for a position of trust and authority.  Period.  I congratulate Mr. Weiner for finally reaching that conclusion.

His God and his wife are the ones who really need the apology.  The latter is the harder one.  Guys, can you imagine being in his place right now?  His wife was away on business when his scandalous twitterations spilled out into the open.  The reunion had to be edgy, and it's a safe bet it didn't include a romantic dinner followed by an eager conjugal embrace.

Worse, his wife was with Hillary Clinton when the news broke.  Hillary Clinton!  The mother of all scandalized spouses.  You know Hillary had to be going through some serious philandering flashbacks as she schooled Huma on just how to handle it.  I shudder as I speculate on the stone cold advice that woman doled out to her beautiful young protege.

I bet former congressman Chris Lee is kicking himself.  He resigned over nothing more than a shirtless photo on Craig's list...

Have a happy Fathers Day weekend!

Goodbye and good riddance to the Dems attack dog. A few Washington lefties have said the party never liked him. I think thats BS, they are just doing damage control.
But, from what I have read, Larry Flynt has offered him a job. LOL! Figures.

Maybe he is sick. I thought to myself "why would someone in the spot light behave in such a destructive way?"

The only reason I can come up with is that he might be a few fries short of a happy meal.

Even the pre-Christian Greeks knew that, which is why they placed so much emphasis on identifying and cultivating the virtues.

Good point. My jury is still out on the veracity of the notion of "sex addiction."

Perhaps I will write something about it when I've contemplated it for a bit.

No one could despise this tasteless, tantrum-throwing turd more than I, but very frankly Anthony Weiner's political views, his cocky, aggressive, arrogantly childish, out-of-control performance on the floor of congress and his numerous shrieking, rudely accusatory "interviews" on television "news" shows SHOULD be regarded as far more embarrassing and unworthy than the shenanigans for which he has been pilloried.

It may be unfortunate, but thanks to legal machinations by aggressive liberal lawyers in front of the corrupt, politically-charged Supreme Court, decisions handed down by this now-dominant branch of government have made the sort of thing little Anthony did via the internet a perfectly normal part of every day American life.

The number of porn sites, and online "dating" services is incalculable. Millions upon millions of people are hooked up to the net via home computers, portable laptops and various kinds of "smart" phones.

Let's face it. People are fascinated with sex. Always have been; always will be. It may not be respectable or in the best interests of society, but what once was relegated strictly to the realm of personal fantasy and furtive visits to the red light district -- then later to sleazy porn movie houses and roadside "adult" bookstores -- is now readily available in the home and in every hotel and motel room in the country -- to say nothing of doctors' waiting rooms, restaurants, street corners, public parks, rest rooms, and the aisles of super markets.

Thanks to liberal Supreme Court decisions redefining obscenity, and miscreant-cum-folk-hero Bill Clinton's enormous success at turning the tables on his attackers and redefining what does and does not properly constitute "sex," (at least in the Popular Mind) the kind of things that Anthony Weiner has done have become to all intents and purposes "normal." Maybe not to you -- maybe not to me -- but I am fairly certain you'd be astounded at how widespread the practice of posting naked pictures of oneself -- and posting amateur pornographic videos of oneself "in action" have become in this sadly degenerate society. because of is easy, widespread availability millions and millions of people -- most of whom lead ostensibly normal, respectable lives -- engage in activities of this sort in their "off" time.

Congressmen, college presidents, business executives, doctors, lawyers, bankers, clergymen, housewives, the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker -- you name it -- indulge in these practices to varying degrees.

It may be distasteful, but it is not a crime to do what Weiner did. He is guilty only of foolishness, tastelessness, and an incredible lack of prudence considering the position he so recently occupied.

If we're going to condemn and effectively execute a person for this sort of untoward behavior, it won't be long before we will feel we have a"'duty" to prosecute people for the outrageous act of flirting, and if possible for the unspeakably heinous crime of --- GASP! --- masturbation.

And after that outright persecution for the merest suspicion that someone might be thinking "impure" thoughts.

Can the Inquisition the Torture Rack and the Stake be far behind?

Jack: Yeah. I wasn't disagreeing with you ,btw, but actually piggybacking on what you had said.

And I agree with you on the sex addiction. My favorite observation on sex addition was from some wag, in response to Tiger Woods, who said "You mean it's not supposed to be addicting?"

BTW, of course sex is addictive. If it weren't none of us would be here.

The idea that it is merely some sort of "duty" we must occasionally perform within certain narrow confines in order to perpetuate the race is absurd.

FreeThinke: Excellent observations.

There is nothing new under the sun. Like you, my only objection is to the mainstreaming of things that in the past were more properly kept away from the public eye.

The ol' 'get thyself to sexual addition rehab' did not fly this time around with the NY pervert. It seems to have been grudgingly accepted in Tiger Woods case, but not this time.

Sexual addiction is not the malady Weiner suffers from, it's an extreme lack of integrity. He should check into one of those sessions, and here's how it goes:

Weiner: 'Hi, I'm Anthony Weiner, and I have no integrity.'

Group (in chorus): 'HI, ANTHONY.'

Weiner: 'It's been about 6 years since I did anything honorable....'

...and then he can continue with the 12 step program. We all saw the first stages, 1) denial, then 2) anger, then 3) acceptance and resignation, and we will see how things go for him as time marches on.

This morning, someone on our local news referred to "the Dome mentality," whereby those serving on Capitol Hill get the idea that they are above the law and above our society's ethos.

I agree that nobody is immune from sin. But there IS something about serving in Washington, D.C., that goes to these people's heads.

I can only imagine how humiliated Mrs. Weiner must feel these last few weeks.

AOW: We'll see. As I said, I now consider this a private matter since he has apologized and resigned.

Nothing in this world beats a loving spouse, as you on you anniversary can attest.

"Does THIS mean that Huma has forgiven him?

It's entirely possible that this [very beautiful!] woman doesn't think there is anything to forgive, AOW.

These ambitious, super-sophisticated characters who dwell in and around the Corridors of Power obviously operate on an entirely different set of ideas and mores than we common citizens. Things that matter a great deal to us are trivial to their way of thinking.

Mrs. Weiner may be a Muslim, but she has also spent years as Hillary Clinton's "body woman, " whatever that means. She's probably no more a Muslim than Hillary is "a devout Methodist."

Bill Clinton's numerous tawdry affairs have had little or no effect on Hillary. I'm sure she knew what he was like before she married him. She's never cared. Her primary interest was in latching on to someone who might lead her to the place where she could one day become our ruler. Like most Marxists Hillary Rodham Clinton is a born tyrant with a god-complex.

I'd be willing to bet the farm that neither one of the Clintons has ever been in love with anything human. They live to gain, hold fame while wielding power. Bill Clinton needs celebrity status and public adulation as much as he needs oxygen. Hillary's temperament is colder. She doesn't want to be loved -- she wants to be feared. Their sickness is as old as mankind.

We haven't a clue as to what the relationship between Anthony Weiner and his exotic-looking wife has been. We assume -- quite wrongly, I'm sure, -- that the two of them decided to marry for the same reasons most people do -- or say they do.

I realize the thought is disgusting to most Americans, but it's very possible the noisy little man's tasteless exhibitionism was a useful tool in getting Uma turned on.

Tony's antics, rude and crude,
Can really get her in the mood.

Unsavory? You BETCHA!

But we make a great mistake in judging others by our own standards. That means we assume far too many facts not in evidence.

The ruling class has always been much given to licentiousness, debauchery, perversion, indifference to human suffering and sadistic cruelty. The only exception seems to have been societies governed by ecclesiastical authority, which left out the fun and games, and concentrated, instead, on the sadistic persecution of those deemed "unworthy."

History for the most part has been an endless chain of atrocities. In light of the massive amount of murder, rape, theft, wanton destruction and fiendish persecution of innocent people pictures of Anthony Weiner's pecs and penis published on the internet pale into insignificance.

I posted this on Tygrrrrss site, but I think it's exactly as appropriate here:

"Actually, as far as human failings go, Weiner's was pretty common and ubiquitious. But, we live in this phony society where we pretend things like that don't go on - we're "moral" and "Judeo-Christian" and all that other silliness. The fact of the matter is these kinds of things go on all the time, and really have very little to do with who we are and what we do in the big scheme of things. The only failing here is our collective inability to leave other people to their own personal lives.

I like Weiner. He's angry and passionate and smart. A great but (sic) difficult combination. He's a love-or-hate kind of guy in a vanilla political universe. I can't stand pretense and etiquette. It's BS for fools. Weiner speaks his mind in a refreshingly honest and human way.

The only therapy he needs is more sex.

Oh so wrong, my friend. Morals are not phony, and they don't just deal with sex. Morals tell us not to harm other or steal from them, for example. There is nothing phony about that.

We all know this stuff goes on, and it has been going on since the dawn of time. Nothing new under the sun. Nobody is "pretending" it doesn't. Where do you come up with such nonsense?

The only failing here is our collective inability to leave other people to their own personal lives.

Wrong again. The failing is one of character, which no one would have known or cared about if he'd kept his actions discrete.

~ Matthew 5:22

Rather than taking that literally, I prefer to see it as an admonition to be kinder, gentler, more thoughtful, more charitable -- and less condemnatory --in the way we think and speak of others.

We indulge in far too much strident, accusatory, hyperbolic invective these days. We need to step back and thinks things through for ourselves, and always remember to treat others -- even the most obnoxious among us -- the way we would prefer to be treated, ourselves.

The good old Golden Rule!

If everyone obeyed it, there would be no need for all the other laws that annoy us, enrage us, cost us incalculable sums of money and whittle away our freedom every day.

Self-righteousness is a by-product of PRIDE -- one of the seven deadly sins. We'd do well to remember and think of that at all times before we open our mouths.

A SIGNIFICANT SIDEBAR ISSUE RELEVANT TO THIS CASE:

Lefty Feminists Expose Themselves by Putting Out for Weiner

by Lori Ziganto

06/18/2011

Termus Interruptus for creepy Rep. Antony Weiner (D.-N.Y.), who finally resigned at a press conference on Thursday, to heckles of "Good-bye, Pervert." This caused leftist feminists to once again defend him—how dare you screech pervert at a predator who sends unasked-for shots of his junk to women—as well as attempt to blame the entire imbroglio on conservatives thinking that sex is icky. The former John Edwards blogger, Amanda Marcotte, who is always obsessed with sex, was the first to weigh in on Twitter with, "Hecklers screamed 'pervert' at Weiner as he announced his resignation. #yepitsaboutsex" and "Yeah, from all the triumphant tweets I'm getting, be prepared. If we're going to throw Dems under the bus for being sexually active ..."

Yes, because that is what it was all about. In the deluded minds of "feminists," at least. From the story first breaking, through his resignation, 'feminists' have lined up on every corner to prostitute themselves for Weiner. Because, abortion. Or something. I can't be sure because I lost my cuckoo pants to English dictionary. By doing so, they once again exposed themselves as the utter shams that they are. They are not for women and they never have been. In fact, the only thing standing up for women in this case is Weiner's, well, little weiner, which it apparently does often and in an unsolicited manner. Let's see how the feminists stood up for women in this case, shall we? We should start with the ever-insane Marcotte, of course. She's been scrawling up a storm ever since the scandal rose its ugly, gray-underwear-clad head. ...

The Golden Rule in fact predates Christianity, and has been observed in one form or another throughout much of the world for thousands of years.

Study your history, guys.

The point I was making about "morals" and "Judeo-Christianity" is that we are soooooo often soooooo hypocritical, ironic, and buffet-religious. Morality in general can be all well and fine, but when it comes to many tenets of morality throughout the world and history, they're just silly, unrealistic, and/or inhuman.

Our sexual hang-ups are a joke. And they make Christianity look silly. The rest of the world laughs at us about that. The only people who really agree with us when it comes to this nonsense are Muslims.

What's your point, Jersey? Before you admonish us all with trite phrases like "Study your history, guys" you should read the comment thread.

I invoked the ancient Greeks in reference to morality.

And your use of hypocritical is misplaced. It is not hypocritical to hold yourself to a higher standard and occasionally failing.

The only person who could escape your definition of hypocrisy is one who sets no standards and does as he pleases. So live like an instinct-driven animal and Jersey won't call you a hypocrite.

Finally, please tell us what "sexual hangup" we are all hung up on here?

THE ORIGIN OF THE GOLDEN RULE and ALL WISDOM and KNOWLEDGE

1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2. The same was in the beginning with God.
3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

~ John, Chapter 1, verses1-5 (KJV)

God is the Author of Life, the Creator of the Universe and all that lies beyond. God, the Father, and Jesus , the Son are one and the same. Jesus is “The Word Made Flesh.” Jesus Christ, the Word, has been with us since the Beginning.

Christians believe this. Therefore, The Golden Rule and every word Jesus said that has been preserved in the Gospels has existed since the Beginning.

The Word of almighty God precedes and supersedes every bit of philosophy and quasi-religious dogma that came after the Beginning.

God, the Spirit, dwells in each of His children, whether they recognize it or not. Every good thought, every kind, creative and constructive impulse, every bit of inspiration that ever resulted in anything wonderful and desirable that has advanced the progress of Civilization came from God -- no one else. It doesn’t matter what geographical location, what race or what culture. ALL the good stuff comes from God. It comes to us in flashes of what-we-call insight, imagination or intuition.

God is Truth. God is Love. God is Life. God is Intelligence. God is Principle. God is Spirit. God is Soul. God is Conscience. God is Beauty. God is Order. God is Serenity. God is Peace. He is the embodiment and perfect expression of these vital elements. He is all-in-all -- omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent. He is with us at all times and in all places.

Without Him we can do no good. With Him all [worthwhile] things are possible.

The Golden Rule. Live it. Don’t fight it.
