An Oxymoron?

Or just a plain moron?

I stumbled across this headline browsing through the news:

"Video game athletes battling it out in California"

I paused, scratched my head, and consulted a dictionary.

"A person who is trained trained or skilled in exercises, sports, or games that require physical strength, agility, or stamina" - Merriam Webster

"A person possessing the natural or acquired traits, such as strength, agility, and endurance, that are necessary for physical exercise or sports, especially those performed in competitive contexts." - Free Dictionary

So, what do you think? Is there any such thing as a "Video Game" Athlete? It does require, sometimes, some level of hand-eye coordination.  But on the other hand, I've never seen anyone running the 440 with a bag of Doritos in one hand and a Mountain Dew in the other?
