The Obamanation Flag: Mark Steyn's Take

Mark Steyn's take on the Obamanation Flag...

"I see the Obama campaign has redesigned the American flag, and very attractive it is too. Replacing the 50 stars of a federal republic is the single “O” logo symbolizing the great gaping maw of spendaholic centralization. And where the stripes used to be are a handful of red daubs, eerily mimicking the bloody finger streaks left on the pillars of the U.S. consulate in Benghazi as its staff were dragged out by a mob of savages to be tortured and killed. What better symbol could one have of American foreign policy? Who says the slick hollow vapid marketing of the Obama campaign doesn’t occasionally intersect with reality?"
(Mark Steyn)

That's just the first paragraph. Please go read the whole article at National Review.

"Why does Secretary Clinton regard “F*** you, God” as a fun toe-tapper for all the family but “F*** you, Allah” as “disgusting and reprehensible”?"

Mark Steyn deserves an answer to his question. We all do!

Obama's newest campaign flag is a symbol of the numbskulled, dim-witted, simpletons who makeup 47 percent of the American voting public, and only goes to prove that Romney was right. This has to be amount the worst things that I've ever seen yet.
And only goes to show the DISGRACE and DISRESPECT that Obama has for this country. It's really unbelievable that an American President (if you can call him that) would make such a mockery of our flag.

Personally I think it's about time we voted for a President with breasts. After all, we already put a Boob in the White House in the last election.
The truth is I do not like the Obama’s either of them, or should I say I despise the Obama’s because of what they represent, I despise the Obama’s because of their ideology, and I certainly do not like his policies and legislation that have been nothing but failures since day one.

As you pointed out, Silverfiddle, very telling. **sigh**

I can't see how any of Obama's supporters can with a straight face deny that this is extremely arrogant.

Yet again, I have seen Obama supporters with a straight face defend other outrageous and indefensible stances (such as workers rights, which Obama strongly opposes by wanting workers forced into unions against their will)

Agreed, but isn't ONE boob ENOUGH?

Why oh why oh WHY would you want to replace it with TWO BOOBS?

Perhaps a new national anthem could be written for the occasion:

THANKS for the MAMMARIES!

Too bad Bob Hope's no longer here to sing it for us!

Word on the street is that the flag bears too much resemblance to marks left by the al Qaeda attackers of the Libyian embassy, as so the Obama re-election team have "dropped" the sale of the new fkag symbol from their website.

...fingers drawn in blood.

By the way, the sale of the products have been withdrawn

Aries,
Amen to your comment -- especially paragraph one!

Wow, wingnuts are really getting desperate for their outrage. They have to make (even more) shit up!

Psst....this isn't sold in his campaign store. It's a bullshit story.

Always On Watch said...

The Obama flag desecration was indeed for sale at the campaign web site.

When the story about the flag disappeared, I checked the official campaign site. "Trust but verify."

Now, it comes to light that the flag has now been sent down the memory hole. Hmmmmm....

Yep. Down the memory hole. See the URL:

An example of trenchant satire at its best:

"I speculate on how future generations will look back on our time from a decade or two hence:

"In the Middle East, Islam had always been beyond criticism. It was only natural that, as their numbers grew in Europe, North America, and Australia, observant Muslims would seek the same protections in their new lands. But they could not have foreseen how eager Western leaders would be to serve as their enablers. . . . As the more cynical Islamic imperialists occasionally reflected, how quickly the supposed defenders of liberal, pluralist, Western values came to sound as if they were competing to be Islam’s lead prison bitch.

"Gee, that’d make a pretty funny number for Koran: The Musical next time Secretary Clinton wants a night out on Broadway, wouldn’t it?"

If only our Republican candidates -- and key members of the State Department -- had the guts -- and the wit -- to talk like that, we might get somewhere.

But no, they're so deeply mired in Political Correctness they'd literally prefer to have their heads chopped off than be thought guilty of saying anything "inflammatory," "Eurocentric," or "racist."

Exactly when was it -- and how did it come to be -- that Caspar Milquetoast was appointed to formulate US foreign policy?

I thought we already had two boobs... or are you folks forgetting jumping Joe Biden?

As for the advertising logo... flags centered around a stars and stripes theme have been used historically for at least the past 150 years by both political parties and in advertising.

It didn't take much effort to find these:

https://www.usrevolution2.com/

http://www.jeffbridgman.com/inventory/index.php?page=out&id=736

I've even seen an American flag with a Che Guevara style image of Ronald Reagan in the blue field.

I find it mildly annoying, not particularly offensive. Try not to get your panties too tightly knotted.

I'd venture that the flag was pulled more due to Mark Steyn's scathing satire than anything else.

Mark Steyn is really one of my favorite right wing provocateurs. So transparent.

He mentions that cartoons are published and there was an act of violence against a kosher store in France. With Steyn you never know, that may be from the same source as the report of the American ambassadors sodomizing, but let's give him the benefit of the doubt.

Do we get upset over a Mosque bombing in the U.S. or are the posters here stupid enough to believe it doesn't happen with some regularity? Because it hardly needs to be stated that Muslims are considered a legitimate target of violence.

I also wish someone could point me to the "Obama flag". If it weren't for right wing blogs I would never have seen it.

But carry on. Mark Steyn will help you believe you are all a bunch of tolerant righteous souls.

Duck,
I also wish someone could point me to the "Obama flag".

See my comments above and THIS at Z's site. You did comment to the latter but seem to have missed the point of the post.

Okay, I call. Show your cards.

Please support your statement that Mosque bombings occur on a regular basis in the US.

While any attack on a house of worship is deplorable, I don't think the facts actually support your statement:

http://www.aclu.org/maps/map-nationwide-anti-mosque-activity

Curiously, a cursory internet search reveals attacks on churches and synagogues as well... at first glance in numbers comparable to or higher than on mosques. Strangely the ACLU doesn't seem to have a map for that though, despite the fact that a news search will reveal far more many stories about synagogue bombings in the US than mosque bombings.

Someone throws a rock through a window at a Christian Church and it's vandalism... throw one through the window of a Mosque and it's a hate crime, eh?

How dare he desecrate it with his emblem.

How about the one with Obama's face where the stars are supposed to be? That, too?

Man, we're just so 'sicko', huh?

Think you'd have liked a Bush flag? ya, right.

Oh yeah right. Jerkoff!

How easily wingnuts get their panties in a wad the closer we get to the election and it becomes apparent that their candidate is a moron.

The only President I know of who desecrated the flag was Bush:

I don't think anyone's "panties are in a wad," it's humorous to see the overblown arrogance of this blow up in their faces.

The Obamanuts sure beat a hasty retreat on this one!
